Description
"In a word, cultural assets are cultural inheritances bequeathed from our ancestors. Not only tangible things such as structures, historical sites, arts & craft works including those folk utensils of daily use, but also such intangible ones as traditional arts of public entertainment and craftsmanship descended from generation to generation may be called cultural assets in a broad sense.

However, in a strict sense the Cultural Assets Protection Law is limited to those of high value, from the scientific or artistic point of view. The are classified into four categories; tangible cultural assets, intangible cultural assets, folk-lore materials, and monuments...

This book was published in order to introduce these cultural assets in the Okinawa Prefecture on the occasion of 'EXPO 1975'"--From What are Cultural Assets?
