Description
"The Exposition displayed the multiple relationships that have existed from ancient times to the present day between man and the sea. I should be pleased if these exhibits have succeeded in implanting some interest in the sea in the minds of the many visitors to the Exposition: if the Exposition has also provided opportunities to deepen their understanding of the sea, it can be considered to have fulfilled its purpose.

I am pleased that an Official Report of the International Ocean Exposition has been compiled and I hope that, through its publication, all the aspects of the Exposition, which had world-wide cooperation, will be interpreted to the world"--From A Message from H.I.H. the Crown Prince.
